What was old is new again – and improved! One treatment that was popular in the 90’s is now back as a top aesthetic procedure across the country: the chemical peel. More people are getting chemical peels now than they did in 1997, when it was the number one cosmetic procedure, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Now you can discover for yourself why Allure magazine called chemical peels “the secret to perfect skin” in 2016. At Regenerative Aesthetics & Lasers NW we offer a medical grade chemical peel treatment that will slough off dead and dull surface layers of the skin to reveal healthier, smooth and glowing skin underneath. Chemical peels also boost collagen production, which dramatically improves your skin’s tone, texture and diminishes fine lines in just one treatment.
Chemical peels can dramatically improve the appearance of the skin on the face, hands, neck and décolletage. It effectively reduces or eliminates many skin imperfections including:
Unlike the harsh glycolic acid peels of the 90’s, modern chemical peel formulas are usually salicylic acid peels or a combination of acids to get multiple benefits. Salicylic acid clears surface imperfections such as blackheads and fades acne scars – while staying within the pores to keep skin clearer over time. You’ll notice more radiant, younger, smoother looking skin without the need for a more invasive procedure or chemicals. Patients also report the following benefits from our chemical peel:
During our chemical peel treatment, your esthetician will ask questions throughout the procedure to make sure you don’t feel any signs of irritation. It’s perfectly normal to feel a tingling or itching sensation, especially during your first chemical peel. If you feel anything beyond that, let your esthetician know immediately. Your skin might feel slightly cold or slightly warm after a treatment, and both temperature changes are normal. Newer, gentler but still effective formulas mean less flaking and less downtime post-treatment. You might feel an increased sensitivity, so be extra gentle on your skin after the treatment – avoid exfoliating for at least 48 hours to prevent irritation, also avoid the gym, but drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and moisturize your skin. Any side effects typically last less than a day. Your skin will be vibrant, brighter, smoother and glowing!
